1. Fixing comments in Wordpress while running Spam Karma and WP-cache

    UPDATE: What I have outlined below does NOT fix the problem. I posted a comment to Priv's blog below where I initially found this to let him know I could not get his fix to work. When I submitted my comment to his site it was invisible to me, but it was in the RSS comment feed and could be seen by another browser. But the browser I had submitted the comment from could not see the comment.

    I was tearing my hair out trying to figure out why comments were not appearing on posts immediately. I think I've patched it all togther:

    The Hubble Ultra Deep Field is called a "pencil beam" survey because the observations encompass a narrow, yet "deep" piece of sky. Astronomers compare the Ultra Deep Field view to looking through an eight-foot-long soda straw.

  3. Kitler cat

    While making a PetSmart run we saw this cat that was up for adoption. In case you don't know, he is a Kitler, or a cat that looks like Hitler. There's a web site devoted to cats who have that little Hitler-esque mustache. The site it hysterical.

  4. Toyota Prius Outselling Entire Brands

    From the December 5th 2007 Edmunds Auto blog:

    The Toyota Prius — by itself — outsold entire automotive brands (that's all models added together) in the month of November. You'd probably say, "I'm sure the Prius did outsell some entire brands in November, brands like Ferrari, Maserati, Porsche and maybe even Jaguar, Land Rover and Hummer too."

    Actually, it outsold all those brands…added together. But the Prius outsold some other brands last month, too. Brands you've probably heard of…

    …like Acura, Audi, Buick, Infiniti, Lincoln, Mercury, Mitsubishi, Saturn, Scion, Subaru, Suzuki and Volvo. And guess what? At 16,737 units in November it was only the fourth-best month of 2007 for the Prius. Toyota sold 24,000 of these hybrids in May, 19,100 in March and 17,700 in June.

    BTW, the Prius was 300 units away from outselling Cadillac in November, and less than 1,000 units short of outselling Volkswagen. I should also note that the Prius was Toyota/Lexus' third-best selling vehicle in November, beaten only by Camry and Corolla.
