The images in this gallery were made during two trips in the fall of 2003. The first trip started in a rental car in Las Vegas and took us to Rachel, Nevada, the town near Area 51, the super-secret Air Force base a few hours north of Las Vegas. This is where some allege the government tests aircraft based on alien technology. Rachel was on the way to Zion and Bryce Canyons in Utah but it was fun to step in the X-Files. From there we headed south to the Grand Canyon and then to Sedona, Arizona before heading back for two days in Las Vegas.

The second trip was at the beginning of November. Work took me to San Jose but then I spent three vacation days in San Francisco. The images are in chronological order.
