What a great face. The arm around the man indicates that he is, indeed, a good man. But the arm is disconcerting and gives the photo an awkward feeling.
ed nixon
There's not enough here to keep me interested or make me search for a deeper meaning.
Hugh Thompson
It's great to see folks on the list sharpening their paparazzi skills. Any idea where Johnny Depp was heading that afternoon? I'll have to give you credit for capturing this young man and his unique attire. His eye contact with the viewer adds to the image. Garry Winogrand would be proud.
Dirk Ršsler
From a technical standpoint I like the tonal range of this image. It's a nice slice of life as a crowd gathers to watch him play a game. It's odd that this many people would stop to watch him which adds to the interest and mystery of what he's playing. My only wish is that the man in the suit was separated out so he's not growing out the man's head in the foreground.
Russell O'Mara
The garters and backpack are the focal point of the image. In that neighborhood it looks as if she'd better hope for a good man.
Peter Williams
The larger wooden man symbolizes the blindness of others as it's inflicted upon him. He seems to be beckoning for others to look at his diminutive partner as he clamors for attention, once again showing our frustrations of being seen, understood and appreciated in a modern world that's gone as hard as these figures. Or, it's just a photo of two wooden models in a store window. You decide.
Markus Hartel
Nice capture of every day life. This image makes me think of the movie "Waiting to Exhale." Of course I don't have to tell you how unsafe you've made us all by taking this image in the NY Subway. I can spot three breaches of security right off the bat "they" could exploit.
Michael Simon
The joy and innocence of childhood captured in a wonderful image. I love the body language of the boy and the classic composition. The line in the sign mirrors the slant of his body and the blue of the sign also matches his shirt. Nice touches. Bravo.
Paul Shelasky
This image, due to the theme, suggests a woman who is alone. It has a nice mood but I'm bothered by any lack of detail in the image from a technical standpoint. Sorry, this one just doesn't speak to me.
John Sidlo
An interesting street character.

I remember seeing this image some time ago. I liked it then and like it now. It has a painterly, surreal quality to it.
Stuart Robson
This image would benefit from a larger presentation. Even with the PN "large" option it's too small. I think there was a good image to a be made from this situation but this one doesn't pull it off. Technically it's well done but the elements don't come together. You are too far from the action as these guys dumpster dive.
John Matturri
Street theatre. Any man who wears a star belt buckle has to be a good man.
Kurt Easterwood
Is a good man hard to find because he's hidden in plain site? Activity swirls all around this man almost as if he's a ghost. A really fine image.
Oliver Oey
Where to start? This image just has so much going for it. I like the idea of the objectification of these men with their absurd packages. The crop is right on with the body languages of the men in front with the man slicing through the back of the image. The world for many men changed the day Marky Mark donned a pair of Calvin Kleins for those ads. Great image.
Henry
This appears to be some kind of carnival which just makes me wonder even more why this man is working on a toilet in a glass box that is obscured by moisture. It's an odd image that leaves me wanting to know more. That's a good thing.
Alex S
This is an "almost" image for me. I'm bothered by the cropping out of the feet of the men. The women is a compelling character with her fur coat and pensive body language. But ultimately it doesn't come together for me.
Kevin Bjorke
Women contemplate the lack of good men over a cup of java? The photo does set a mood.
Mark Johnson
Nice SP image in the tradition of HC-B.
Quinlan Faris
A competent image but it doesn't have anything in it for me that takes it to that next level.
Don Sorsa
As you mentioned it's not a great scan and the content is not compelling enough to overcome this flaw.
ed leveckis
It looks like a straight men is also hard to find. Weegee does drag.
SonC
Ribbit. What happen after she kissed it? Is hand of god burning making a comeback? Can plaid pants be far behind? Ribbit.
Janice Mackay
I'm having a tough time getting past the quality of this image. It's too dark and muddy. I also want to crop this image, getting rid of the top of the image and coming in from the left to crop out the man in the dark shirt. Then we're focused on her being alone, surrounded by one man with a mother figure and another man with his lover.
Brock N. Meeks
I like this photo because it gives me a sense of civility and manners that often seems to be lacking in our lives
John Beeching
I like the sense of space in your images. The body language of all the men in this image is fascinating. I was poking around the galley from which your submission comes and found this image. The interaction between this couple speaks volumes. Too bad you didn't enter it as it would have been on my short list.
Stefan Sahlander
She has found a good man and even contains him with fur-lined handcuffs. I can't tell if he's defiant of his subjugation or showing the crowd he's happy to be enslaved. Don't look, the puritans are right behind you. Ok, I'll be serious now... It's a goofy fun photo.
ralph ballerstadt
A great image from Ralph. I like how he tears apart a scene and then puts it back together. It's a pleasure to see an image from someone working at this level.
Gerry Widen
My first thought upon seeing this image is that the Boys of Summer of love sure have aged. This image makes me wonder what the relationship is between these two men.
Clive Moss
Lock'em or get'em stolen. Bike Theft Art. It is what it is.
Alan Hayes
Yet *another* illegal subway photo. I'm proud to be among a group of subversives. The direct confrontation of the people in the image adds to its power. The two women also form a nice line with the man. I'm just thankful this guy didn't take up the Naked Cowboy's shtick.
Larry Gustafson
The sign on the door says it all. Imagine that forty years of admiration makes someone bitter. Who is Larry McMurty you ask?
hool
This image makes me smile with its wry humor, something that's difficult to do in photography. I would love to know what he was thinking about the image reflected of himself in the mirrored windows as he hurried along.
Jim Hurtubise
Another great slice of modern-day American life well captured. I like the framing of the image and the perspective. The slightly off-kilter horizon also adds to the image. The woman on the ground share a secret. Or, they need to shout at close range over the roar of the engines. But when was photography ever about truth? For our reality they are conspiring against our protagonist.
robert blake
The statue beckons to her but her gaze seems to be more towards his mid-section. Maybe that's the joke in the photo.
John Kenny
This image has the same theme I found buried in John Beeching's site. Is she having a spat with a man? We're left to our imaginations, which is not a bad thing.
Robert M Johnson
An interesting face on this gentleman. His body language displays a quiet dignity.

This month's salon had a total of 37 entries. Wow, that's a lot of adjudication. I can only hope I've come within shouting distance of those who have come before me.There are some real gems offered from the list. Below are the images for me that quickly rose to the top. It's fun to see them all on one page as it speaks to the high level of work that can be found on this list. Any of these images could have been a winner.
